How To Achieve Mediocrity (A Satire - One day, four sessions) - Books with titles such as How To Be A Low-Life, Up A Dead-end Street or How To Achieve Mediocrity will never top the best sellers list. Most people feel that their knowledge on the subject can equal that of any author. Furthermore, it is how to succeed that interests most people. The word MEDIOCRE, comes from two Latin words: MEDI, meaning half way and OCRIS, meaning a mountain or mountain ledge. The literal translation means half way up the mountain! The mediocre person is satisfied with halfway measures. He is pleased with near accomplishments. Because the mediocre person is satisfied with marginal successes, he never discovers his full potential. He never sees life's glorious vistas from the top of the mountain, simply because he never scales it's heights. He is satisfied to live half way up the mountain. It is highly improbable that the mediocre person will achieve success at anything. For those, however, who are interested in achieving mediocrity and for those who are satisfied with the ordinary, commonplace status quo, here are several good rules to follow. They will help you in becoming and amiable non-entity. Mediocrity is a curse to mankind. We are made in the image of God. His very nature is creativity. Status-quo was never God's intent for His children. He delights in your productivity. Expect great and achieve great things. Use your talents to serve Him and positively influence those around you. For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. (Ephesians 2:20) This study may be taken for 1 credit.
